I've called a local repair shop and asked if they knew who the original manufacturer was but they didn't have any idea.Montgomery Ward as moved completely out of the US and couldn't give me any advise.I've yet to find anything on eBay or any searches I've done so far.If I could just come up with the manufacturer maybe I'd have a clue where to look.
I used to work at their HQ in Chicago. They have closed. They did not move. And www.wards.com is just a company that bought the name. They wouldn't have a clue.
There were probably more than one manufacturers that made microwaves for MW. You can try giving Admiral and Sharp a call. Make sure you talk to someone who has been with the company at least in 2000 or earlier. If they didn't make microwaves for MW, they might know who did...since it's their job. Or they might even know by the serial number/manufacturer number. Also, GE was a financial backer, it is possible they made microwaves for Wards--but I think it is slim. At the end, there would be lightbulbs that would go out, and we'd laugh that GE couldn't even get us a deal on bulbs!
